Montana Moore

Montana Moore is a self-taught artist based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, known for blending sculptural and painted forms. Her work reflects an ongoing evolution in the exploration of texture, multimedia, and the dynamic interplay of materials. Inspired by her love of the natural environment, as well as the emotions linked to colour, light, and dimension, Montana is always mindful of how her pieces interact with and enhance a space.

Her career began in a design agency, sparking a lasting passion for creativity and aesthetics, which now plays a central role in her art. After leaving a successful career in financial services in 2020 to focus solely on her art practice, Montana’s unique aesthetic has cultivated a steady following in Australia and internationally.

While her multi-layered, textural techniques remain a foundation of her practice, Montana is continuously driven to push boundaries through experimentation and the desire to challenge herself. Her process is both precise and daring, with materials often leaving little room for rework, inviting bold decisions and the potential for unexpected outcomes. Montana’s work balances technical precision with moments of discovery, channelling her life experiences, emotions, and surroundings. Her inspiration evolves naturally throughout her creative process, leading to explorations that reflect her journey and embrace the spontaneity of creation.

Collaborating with interior designers and collectors, she merges artistic expression with a thoughtful sense of space. Montana has had numerous sellout shows, and her works are held in private collections across Australia, the US, the UK, Italy, Singapore, and France.
